For the Board Meeting on April 11, 2023, Upshur Stars recognized students for their posters featuring themes on Addressing the Chronic Absenteeism and for Bus Safety: Safely Rolling to My Destination. Don Nester from the Foundation of Better Schools presented awards to the following students that created posters on Addressing the Chronic Absenteeism: Jayla Wayts, Elimor Nuttall, Aaliyah Lothes, Laurel Conway, Gabriella Moreland. For the Bus Safety Week posters, students Kinsley Hornbeck and Jacob Mackey were awarded for their posters.
