Buckhannon, WV – Upshur County Schools has announced several important updates to the school schedule for the upcoming spring months. These days are because of legislative requirements. These changes are crucial for ensuring that all students meet their educational requirements and the academic year is completed successfully.

Due to the school closure on January 21st, school will be in session as usual on April 18th. All students are expected to attend classes on this day. This regular school day will help maintain the continuity of learning and that instructional requirements are met.

Due to the school closure on January 23rd, school will be held on May 16th. There will be a 2-hour early dismissal. On this day, students will be dismissed two hours earlier than the regular dismissal time. Parents and guardians are advised to make the necessary arrangements for their child's early pick-up or after-school care. This early dismissal will allow for buses to miss expected Strawberry Festival traffic.

Due to the school closures on February 17th and February 20th, school will be held on June 2nd and 3rd. School will be in session on both days. These additional days have been added to the calendar to ensure that all instructional requirements are met. Attendance on these days is essential for students to complete their coursework and prepare for the end of the academic year.

These changes are designed to enhance the educational experience and ensure that all students receive the support they need to succeed.
