Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School

Students in Mr. McClain’s 6th grade science class collaborated with Mrs. Skidmore, the school Technology Specialist, to utilize virtual reality headsets and Merge Cube technology to "travel" to Mars,  explore the surface of the planet, and explore the spacecraft.   They also experienced a moon walk and a simulated rocket launch.  The Merge Cube and iPads were used to project 3D images of the solar system.  Students researched and reviewed each planet's size and distance from the sun.   This activity helped to reenforce the solar system portion of the curriculum .
