Due to the expected impacts from the upcoming winter weather, all Upshur County Schools will be closed tomorrow, Monday, January 6th.
We’re proud to share that all schools in Upshur County have Comfort Closets, providing students with discreet access to clothing, hygiene items, and school supplies. 🏫💙
Our Communities in Schools Site Coordinator noticed that tennis shoes are a popular item in these closets. To help meet this need, the Foundation for Better Schools held a successful shoe drive in November and December. Thanks to their efforts, our Comfort Closets are now stocked with new tennis shoes! 🎉
Additionally, the Foundation has generously committed $3,000 to purchase more footwear as needed through a partnership with Shoe Sensation. 👏

If you have a Christmas tree this year, keep your tree at least 3 feet away from heat sources like fireplaces, radiators, space heaters, candles, or heat vents. Also, ensure your tree does not block any exits. Stay safe and enjoy a happy holiday season!
